Pilatus (near Lucerne, Switzerland)

Pilatus is a mountain near Lucerne that is accessible by cog railway.

It's has some beautiful views over Lake Lucerne on the way up.

A cog railway is basically a railway that utilizes cogs (kind of a gear/sprocket mechanism) to aid it in climbing steep gradients.

It climbs the mountain pretty quickly.
Enough so that you notice the temperature change on the way up.
Vickie gave us a lectute an adiabatic cooling on the way up.
We were more focused on the vistas.
A flag all the way up here?
I think the cows put it there.

Once we got to the top, we got to enjoy the magnificant view... of the inside of a cloud.

The nice thing was that I didn't feel as nervous about the height...
You couldn't tell how high you were. (These pictures are looking straight down)
It started to thunderstorm, so we went back down. By the time we got to the bottom, it was nice again... so we went shopping in Lucerne.

The end - thanks for visiting.
